I grew up in Friendswood, Texas, USA in an uncommonly normal and loving family. I'm a graduate of Friendswood High School and Rice University, with a BS degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering.
Now I'm 30 years old and live in Redmond, Washington, USA, with my wife, Leslie. We were married in June 2006. We have no pets and no children, and we both work full-time.
I work as a software development engineer for Microsoft. If you've ever used Microsoft Money or MSN Money then you've used some of my work.
I enjoy playing bass guitar, playing video games, watching movies and TV shows, working out, listening to music, going to concerts, and spending time with my wife.
I'm a very principled person with a strong sense of right and wrong. I try to be a good listener, a keen observer, and a critical thinker. I like to learn about, think about, discuss, and write about substantive topics such as ethics, government, atheism, education, parenting, psychology, law, and technology.
